Gua Sha Bodywork Therapy


Gua Sha (gwa sha) is a modality in Chinese medicine, to clear blockages of ‘Qi’ in the body. In modern times, Gua Sha is part of a collection of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) techniques. With a smooth edged tool, the skin is gently scraped to help break up fascia, stimulate microcirculation of soft tissue, alleviate pain, and increase range of motion. Like cupping, blood is drawn to the surface from increased circulation, leaving you feeling invigorated from head to toe.
